Middle and high school teachers of history, government, social studies and related courses are invited to apply for the 2025 Class of the Johnson Institute Scholars in Montgomery, Alabama!
This multi-day conference will be held at the Frank Johnson Courthouse on June 24-26, 2025.
Participants will join other educators to learn how to incorporate historic court cases into classroom instruction and take a pedagogical look at the Constitutional arguments of landmark court cases from the Civil Rights Era.
Throughout the conference, participants will:
Meet with educational experts, federal judges, and other experts focused on teaching the U.S. Constitution through historic court cases
Learn teaching strategies for incorporating constitutional court cases and their significance into contemporary lessons
Visit civil rights sites in Montgomery
Collaborate and network with educators
The cost to attend the Scholars Conference is free, but a registration fee of $50 is required to secure your spot. Participants who complete the conference will receive a stipend that includes a refund of the registration fee and a certificate of completion.
